It seems Douglas Adams' humour gels with me, I actually laughed out at some points. The book started off really well, but towards the end it lost its 'spark' and began to feel heavy and dragging. I'll still read the next installment, hoping it has got the humour the beginning of this book had.

Part of me feels like this book was a come down after The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. In that book we learn about the "mock formation" of the Earth, and why it was destroyed.

In this book, we learn about the experiences of Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, Zaphod Beeblebrox, and Trillian as they head to (and from) the Restaurant at the End of the Universe. It wasn't bad, but it didn't feel as funny as the first book, and it doesn't really answer what was going on in Beeblebrox's head.

I actually enjoyed this book better than Hitchhikers. For starters I though Zaphod was the most interesting character in the series and this book focuses on him more than Arthur. But second and biggest I think is the idea of the restaurant just fascinates the hell out of me. Although this is point in the series where Adams starts dealing with time paradox and that ultimately ruins the series for me. But this book presents the largest amount of concepts that i love, the restaurant, and the total perspective vortex are my favorite.
