The story of 'None Of This is True' really grabbed my attention. I would've probably given it 5 stars if I wasn't conflicted with Walter and having a hard time getting a grasp on certain characters such as Roxy and Erin. Boy that was a challenge. The unresolved threads at the end left me feeling unsatisfied with how things wrapped up. Nevertheless the plot twists and suspense kept me hooked — which I think is the important part, right? Lisa Jewells knack for creating characters added a layer of tension to the story.
ie:
Josie is like a whirlwind of unpredictability. She's got this wild energy that's both captivating and a little bit unsettling. You never quite know what she's going to do next, and that's part of what makes her so intriguing.
Walter's mysteriousness adds this air of tension to the story, like there's something lurking just beneath the surface waiting to be revealed. Every time he appears on the page, you're drawn in, trying to unravel the enigma that is Walter.
The end of the novel really gets you thinking, especially about what really happened and who's actually the predator.
PS. I'm unsure how I feel about Lisa's choice to victimize a pedophile. I get it I swear, but... It's hard to swallow. But despite my concerns about the ending, I totally recommend Jewell's latest book—it's an awesome read.
