Audiobook via Hoopla.

Narrators fit pretty well.

This had me on the edge of my seat! I love the tension between the MCs - the push and pull and of course “touch her and die.” Ooof, I’m so here for it!
Immediately jumping into book 2.

Typical bully romance with some deeper themes. I felt that the FMC was quite thought out in terms of her character and he thought processes made logical sense and were consistent, not so much with the male lead. I also massively prefer Ricky

for me

So good but I’m mad it’s on a cliff hanger didn’t expect that. Definitely frustrating at times but such a good read. Definitely kind of hard to root for the guy cuz he is a complete dick. 3/5

Absolutely brilliant start to this series! I recently started reading high school bully books and this book takes that genre to a new level!

Throughout, West is a true bully, but he is also so much more. There is a dark passion behind the way he is, and that beast loves control, causing fear and definitely does not like someone who says no. The tension between our two main characters is dripping with disdain, and these two are drawn to each other, from start to finish.

The pace and flow of the story is absolutely brilliant. It gives you a true feeling of hatred right through to the ending result. You never feel rushed, and it definitely feels real, which is so important, especially in this genre.

I loved the characters. They were real, deep and truly stuck to their personalities, from start to finish. I loved getting to know them and finding out what made them tick.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. It is brilliant!!

Great audiobook!

Blue gets into a new school. Her dad is a drunk and her mom left. Her brother is in jail, so it’s mainly her and her sister.

West and his brothers have always attended the prep school. On a mission to get back at his dad, he finds some incriminating evidence in a safe that immediately places Blue in his crosshairs.

—-this is a bully romance that ends on a cliffy and I’m here for it.

Such a good book! I love academia setting romance novels that are a little dark with a little bit of life! This was recommended by a blogger I follow and this was the first book by Rachel Jonas that I have ever read! I highly recommend this book and cant wait to finish the series!

I was riveted and on the edge of my seat through the entire book. The Golden Boys is a deeply dark bully romance and is not for the faint of heart, but it is also wickedly good.

West Golden is haunted by his father's sins, tormented and twisted inside, but bestowed with the face of an angel. He sets out to ruin Blue Riley, the new girl attending their elite prep school, but she isn't like the rest of the rich elite, she's there on scholarship. West has his reasons for singling her out (justified for the information he has at the time), none of which he makes known to either her or his brothers, but he is dead set to make her school year the worst she's ever known and his deeds are wicked and malicious.

Blue knows she can't make waves so she comes into the school year with her head down just wanting to make it to graduation. She's surprised when one of the hottest guys in school singles her out, but it isn't long before she realizes it isn't for good reasons. West makes it known that he's actually placed a target on her back and he and his minions are out for blood. For the life of her she can't figure out why he hates her so much, aside from the fact that she comes from the wrong side of town, but she's faced worse in her life and she isn't about to lay down and let the King walk all over her. Blue is no wallflower and she doesn't take his bullying lying down.

The Golden Boys isn't light hearted, it's dark and pushes boundaries. That being said, Blue and West sense that darkness in each other, it is stated to one another multiple times throughout the story, so know that even though limitations are pushed to the edge, neither would do it to anyone but the other. Their inner darkness calls out to the each other, but they also both wonder if it will go too far because neither one of them know when to stop.

This is book one in this new series and it does end on a whopper...like wow!! I'm really excited for the next installment because these two have a killer chemistry.

Yes! Give me all the Gossip Girl vibes! Make it a bully romance with electric chemistry and laced with angst.

West and Blue “Southside” made me feel every palpable zing of that sexual tension that propels them into each other's orbit. The banter is pure foreplay. I guess I just love a true bully romance.

“You’re a walking tragedy,” I continue, speaking my mind in a trance as his lips move down to my neck.

“What else?” His breath is warm against my skin when he asks, making me lose my foothold in reality a little more.
