I’ve jumped around a lot with the rating for this one. I can’t decide if I’d give it a 3.5/4 so I’ve decided to pick 4 for the sake of GoodReads rating.

I think my only real complaint is - partly my own doing, this was the first book of the series I read (it CAN be a standalone but is part of a series). And I think because of that I wasn’t too emotionally invested in ALL the characters & believe me, there’s a lot of side characters - almost too many. That a lot of the time I struggled to remember who was who, & their relationship to others. But I understand that the author has been writing many books about these other characters in the series, so it makes sense.

I also wasn’t the biggest fan of the text conversations - that’s just me though.

Overall, the storyline was great. Once the big reveal happened, I was HOOKED. Though the big reveal happens a little more than halfway through the book, but after it happened I refused to put the book down.

It did have its predictable moments but I enjoyed them and overall, I do plan to eventually ready the rest of the books in the series.

I really enjoyed this one! Jase and Melody are so good together. I enjoyed their connection and playful banter. You could tell how much they cared for one another.

Melody had misconceptions about Jase, and I loved watching him complete disprove them every single moment of their relationship. The group immediately took her and her friends in as their own, and having the support and care is what she really needed.

I enjoyed the ‘twist’ of the story, and the secret Melody was keeping. My heart hurt for her when it all came out, but I enjoyed watching Jase get his girl after it all unfolded.

This friend/family group is fantastic! The banter, the jokes, the support and love they all have for each other is amazing. The text chains (once you figured out how to follow along) which such a fun addition to the story!

God Alley and her sexy, cocky hockey players! They get me every time. She writes the best hockey players out there people. And fighters too lol.

She definitely didn’t disappoint with Jase. Hate to say he beat out Vince as my favorite! Well to be honest they both can be since Vince is a fighter. Yessss!!

Jase was not what I was expecting him to be. He is such a romantic and I don’t know why that shocked me as he goes to book club with Maddy! But he was super sweet as well. Funny and cocky to boot. I just love how he met Melody and just started texting her. It was so cute.

Melody was everything and more that I thought she was gonna be. I was surprised with her how much hockey knowledge she had but after finding out why it makes sense lol. Her and Jase together are so perfect and cute, it just melted my heart.

I swear each of Alley’s books has been my favorite, until I read her next one. But, Jase and Melody will be nearly impossible to match let alone top. Jase has been swoon worthy since he was introduced in Power Play- as a big brother he was just amazing, then in Tap Out he was an amazing bestie. I worried whether I anyone was going to be enough to deserve this special guy. The heroine He falls in love with is just so perfect. She’s strong, sarcastic, yet sweet and vulnerable at times too.

Melody is the perfect march for Jase and their love story is both romantic, funny, heartbreaking,
And epic! I was so lucky to receive an ARC of this book and don’t want to spoil anything about this story...so hurry up and grab this book and enjoy the cast of characters that make up the BTU family!!

Puck Performance is another pucking enthralling instalment in the BTU Alumni series.

Ciz's books leave me in awe of her writing ability; not only does she write ah-may-zing dialogue, but her characters have a level of wit and sarcasm that adds a distinct element to her books that sets her apart from others.

I spent my day enveloped in the BTU Alumni world. As soon as I began, I knew there was no chance I would be able to stop until I read every single word.

Melody was the ideal combination of sassy, sarcastic, and sweet. The more I read the more she stole my heart. She was living her dream of performing on Broadway, and although her circle was small they were the quintessential ride or die type.

Melody and her friends fit in so well in this world, full of wit and a dash of meddling.

Jase was SWOON, so much SWOON. He was cocky, sarcastic, and a heavy dose of dorky, which made him feel more real than your average book boyfriend. What truly makes Jase unique was the lengths he went to protect those he cared about, even if it meant adding more weight to his own mind.

Jase and Melody had an instant connection; Melody refused to participate and walked away, but she soon discovered that Jase was far more creative than she had imagined. Their banter was EVERYTHING, whether they were texting or talking in person, it just flowed so easily between them. The intensity between them increased as their feelings evolved.

Melody and Jase had completely taken over my heart, and every emotion they had swallowed my emotions. Every one of their emotions wriggled its way into my heart, mostly giddy happy feelings, but there were times when the pain they felt was brought to life with such vivid clarity that it shook me to my core.

Puck Performance was pucking irresistible. An engrossing blend of sizzling chemistry, a swoony dorky hero, a sassy heroine, laugh out loud and giggle inducing witty banter, sprinkles of feels, and steam, enveloped inside a world brimming with unconditional love and meddling friends.

Pucking Fantastic!

Oh Alley Ciz, I bow down to your evil genius.

Here you go again putting my heart through the motions.

Jake, Gage, Vince, and now Jase!? WHEW. Just how is a girl to choose??

I know I say this every time I’m introduced to a new guy but hot zayum, Jase takes the cake and I’m not so sure he can be topped (Sorry, not sorry DL Gallie). I have two words for you: TONGUE RING, nuff said!

This story...I mean where do I start? It’s like coming home.
The texts, the Coven conversations, Melody’s inner monologues, THE POTATOES (insider)...I literally laughed out loud too many times to count. There were so many times this story put the biggest smile on my face. Then there’s the secret and boy does Ciz keep you hanging on by a nail biting thread wondering what Melody’s secret is and when it drops so does my jaw. I had my theory but I never saw that coming! Alley Ciz had to turn me ragey for just a second or two but what’s a good book without a rage moment right?? That ending only leaves me salivating for more! Let’s just go ahead and skip to June shall we. I received a copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.

Is it wrong to wish Jase was real? Probably
Do I care? Not in the least.
He takes swoon to a whole new level.

Jase and Mels are just so perfect for each other. I love their banter, the cheesiness of their shirts- they give me #relationshipgoals.

I kind of figured out the twist in their story pretty early but boy... the reaction from Jase was brutal!

I ate this book up like a starving lady. Not satisfied with just this, I also devoured the bonus epilogue. I wish there was dessert, I pucking loved it so much.

I just want to jump into this series and live it; because all of the crazy calls to me... I wish they were my real friends.

Alley just keeps killing it with the BTU series. Absolutely loved reading Jase and Melody's story in first person. This book is a roller coater of emotions and made me scream at Jase and Melody to finally get together and amongst other things!!
