I adored this book! If you are thinking- "I want to read Harry Potter to my kids" but your kids are too young- read this series! Yep is an wonderful author who has created a realistic world with magic in it. Now onto the next one.

So much whimsy!! A delightful approach to the relationship between a person and “their” dragon as its told from the dragon’s perspective. Short and sweet, it’s a great short chapter book for early readers.

It was quite cute. Despite being fairly recent it felt kind of old-timey.

Charming! And a bit... erm... more... daringdo gristly than I expected.

Narrated by a grumpy dragon who is being invaded by a new person in her life. Since I'm a "World-building" reading appeal person, I love love loved the descriptions of places. Clipper's Emporium. The gathering near the end (avoiding spoilery specifics).

Some of the grumpiness made me impatient, but my memories of this are fond.

Took this out to the local elementaries leading up to Summer Reading 2016. It wasn't the runaway hit that I wanted it to be, but I still like it a lot.

Absolutely enchanting, this is a perfect little book to read if you are looking for something sweet and lovely. Miss Drake is a dragon and her pet human has just died. Feeling sad and sorry her pet’s niece shows up in her cave looking for a friend. Winnie’s aunt just died and left Winnie the best present, a dragon! Miss Drake and Winnie are both strong and stubborn, and with a whole hidden world of magic Winnie could never leave Miss Drake alone. Going around San Francisco we learn with Winnie the hidden wonders, and the hidden dangers of the magic world. A light, airy adventure this is a great story for second graders on up, readers third to sixth grade who are looking for a sweet fantasy book without too much danger. Aimed at girls, boys who love dragons and magic will also enjoy. I can’t wait to read the next one!

A very sweet story about dealing with loss and grief and the discovery that dragons and magic are real. My 10-year-old self is twirling in delight.

This was cute and made me chuckle. Pretty anti-climactic but it's a children's book after all and a 5th grade reading level. Reading this for a school book club.

Pretty good overall but at times Winnie was a bit annoying. I'm not sure I can say I grew attached to her in the end. Miss Drake was fairly interesting as a character.
