Before I start ranting about I better make it clear that I enjoyed this book very much. Just like most of the books by this author that I have read.

However, please stop dragging in CERN! Ever since Dan Brown dragged in CERN in one of his books, with the most ridiculous discription of CERN that I have ever seen, it seems everyone just feels that they have to drag us in all the time.

I know, I know I am biased since CERN is where I spend most of my days but it is really a bit tiresome to read all these excaggerated at best and just plain wrong at worst descriptions of CERN. We do not have a supersonic jet, we cannot drive as fast as we want on the Suiss highway and we have to pass through customs at the airport like everyone else.

Michael did not go too far out and got most of it right but I’m still a bit allergic to seeing CERN in fiction litterature.

Okay, rant over. As I wrote above I really liked the book. It is is a lot more of the same of course and it is probably a good thing that this series is only four books long. As you might guess most that can be said about this book has already been said in my reviews of The Dark Messiah and The Darkest Knight.

I have to admit that I do not understand why they have to get all these “artefacts” together. After all the Queen Bitch is supposed to come back and she already have all this lovely hardware suitable for gratuitous mayhem and violence so why bother?

An anyway, great book. Downloading the next…

This was an interesting read. It almost seemed like it was written by two different people. Oh wait, that's because it was! And what an excellent job they did. I love Michael and Akio, as well as Yuko and Eve. Jacquelin and Mark are climbing that ladder as well. They make a cute couple. LOL

It's a fairly good story with good action. It was nice to see Michael own a bit of stupidity, too.

It's a bit comical to me that I've been saying since I started The Second Dark Ages that Anderle writes male MCs better than female. At the end of this book I listened to the author notes for the first time and realized that a female author, Ell Leigh Clarke, had a hand in writing this series. She's listed here as a narrator but she's a co-author. That might explain things a bit.

I'm enjoying this series, but it's superficial fun stuff at best, with a fair amount of fan-service.

Chris Abernathy's narration is excellent and I had no moments when the voices pulled me from immersion. He's a voice actor, and I'll be looking for more of his work.

Another very enjoyable volume

Another very enjoyable book in The Second Dark Ages Series. Taking out that infamous “Gott Verdammt” expression that annoys me tremendously. One character saying is OK because it would be part of his history/background but to have an Asian character repeating it drives me nuts because it makes everyone looks like they have no personality. So they copy somebody’s else expressions. This expression is all over all the books and almost every character say it in the books.

Like I said before this is still a great series and Michael Anderle has a way to deliver a story that catches our attention and keeps enthralled.
