The Grand Mystery Continues...

Tania, our heroine, has not had an easy go of it. Her thesis has disappeared (ninjas may've been involved), her scholarship was taken away, and now she's been fired from her job at the library due to health problems. The only bright light in her life is the emails she receives asking about said thesis...until their contents becomes more personal. Figuring out who the sender is leaves her more baffled and befuddled and so she decides she's better off leaving well enough alone.

How an university student turned librarian found an original copy of The Compact is a mystery to Prince Rian and getting to know her through anonymous emails has become a pleasure. So when their correspondence stops suddenly he has to find out why, not only because she could be more informed about The Compact than anyone he knows, but because there's a chance she is his mate.

When these two finally meet it's a little much to take for Tania. To have her answers though, she follows this prince to Alaska. She just has to figure out if he's telling the truth about being a dragon and her his queen.

This is a fantastic addition to the series! I have to say I rather appreciate how the writer didn't solve her problems in one fell swoop in this story but showed how she continues to struggle with her health problems while living her life and falling in love with a man who happens to be a celebrity. And Rian is wonderful about giving Tania the time she needs to learn to trust him with her heart. When they figure out another piece to the puzzle its a joy to wan to celebrate with them but I doubt getting the answers is going to be as easy as think it's going to be...poor Fask! LOL I can't wait to read the next installment!

Though this is the second story in the series, and it is stand-alone, it would be better to read the first book before. I received an advance copy from the author in promise of an honest review.

Short. nothing resolved.

This book was well written grammatically and theme wise which is a huge bonus when books are fairly cheap but if you didn’t read the first book or plan on reading the next you’re left with no resolution in a world of people that just stops. The beginning wasn’t hard to follow but at the end there’s no answer for the starting problems and more questions with out even a hint that they’ve solved anything. Series books should have some sort of answers beside “well the main couple is in love and planning to marry.” The couple that apparent get together in the first book aren’t even married by the end of this one and she’s hinted at a third couple. The title literally has dragon in it and we see the main character’s dragon once fully and once in a half-assed battle where he doesn’t actually battle as a dragon and it’s over in less than 5 pages. We are told about other kinds of shifters but there is literally no one else but the main make character who shows anything. Grammar can’t save this story’s main flaw of too much tell and actually no show at all.
