I REALLY enjoyed this short story and I have a feeling the healer, Yrene is going to play a bigger role in the future books. Good, because I really like her right now! (Sarah honey, keep it that way. We’ve been over this with Tamlin.)

How Sarah J. Maas tells and writes even the simplest stories is extraordinary. ❤

I feel that SJM did such a great job at first introducing the effects of grooming & abuse that Calaena suffered. For me, it was a great depiction of abuse disguised as love and how a victim of abuse can not recognize the signs due to years of conditioning and trust.

It’s also so beautiful to see that Celaena’s character is so strong and true to herself. Over the years and even as young as she was (16/17 yrs old), she was solid in her beliefs. I love the experience between Yrene and Celaena; it’s the shortest story out of the Novella’s and the sweetest.
