I could’ve loved this collection but it just felt so so long and so so repetitive. Some of the stories were wonderful but I cannot remember which ones because they all blurred into one. I did love the connections between the stories but I feel that this would have worked better if they were in a much much smaller collection.

This was an amazing collection of stories! I was especially spooked (in a good way) by stories from her earlier collections. A woman identifying with the rats in her basement apartment, a child jealous of dolls, children believing their angels, a family fixated on photography to the detriment of the photographed's health. I didn't understand all of the stories. But they were all beautifully, strangely written and translated. This fits in nicely with my personal interest in the strange, magical realist, female bodies.
