This is not my usual type of story - and yet it pulled me in.
At first, I read this and some of the world building was - different - but I stayed with it and I am glad that I did.

I enjoyed the premise of the fantasy elements and even the backstory and history of Inn Keepers. This concept is one that on paper I probably would pass on nine times out of ten, but this happened to be the one time and it was well worth the read.

It has been a long time since a book grabbed me in a way that made me finish the entire read in less than 24 hours, but this book did it. Kudos!

I am loving the writing team that is Ilona Andrews. They so far have not disappointed. Always taking parts of Fantasy genres and adding a twist of something. This one is Fantasy with a twist of Sci-Fi.
Love the characters. The idea of the innkeeper and what they are. World build is wonderful, as always. The story gives an interesting twist on werewolves and vampires, love it. Of course the sense of humor of the authors shines through again as well.

Reread of this and still good. Still love the authors works completely. Love the sense of humor and the interesting takes on normal tropes. The ideas of Inns and Innkeepers to be a neutral place for interplanetary travelers. After having read this I did find this kind of idea pop up in other fantasy series but none so far that highlight this type of character.
