3 stories in this volume.
I thought the first two were okay. “The Tyrant’s Heir’s Tale” by Carrie Vaughn was more predictable than I’d like. “The Light is Setting Suns” by Samuel Chapman also only okay.

I adored the novella, “Between Blades” by Filip Hajdar Drnovsek Zorko. When I was only halfway through, I was looking online to see if he had any full books out. I didn’t find any, but he does have some publications in other magazines. Wonderful story with lgbtqi+ representation. Characters are gladiators in fantasy world where they fight in pairs and one turns into sword form and the other fights with the sword form. It’s a giant suspension of disbelief, but the world and characters are believable throughout and I loved the story!
