This is my first time reading this author and I was excited about it when my book club chose this one. Needless to say I was disappointed, if this was not a book club book I would have not finished this book, I would have went straight to the end and read the last chapter and been done with this.

I personally would have liked what was revealed to have been in earlier chapters then the investigation into what happened for the rest of the book
I feel like the last chapter was rushed and everything explained hastily.

I know this author writes in other genres so I will give that a try. This was a 3.5 for me but I suggest you read for yourself.

3 stars. I really liked the plot of this one. I thought that was a lot of fun. The writing was fine though some of the dialogue felt a bit stilted and there was a lot of telling and not enough showing. I also wasn’t too crazy about the main characters. Samantha was completely reckless in how she handled things and putting her self in unnecessary danger. I just wanted to shake her. I get her determination of trying to solve the murder but she didn’t think things through. Gregory was just boring. I wanted more from his character but I do think he and Samantha worked really well together. This was a quick read and it was fun but the characters leave a lot to be desired.

Cold Case True Crime is book 5 in the multi-author Unsolved Mystery series. The story is entertaining and suspenseful, and the characters are likable. Samantha finds herself in some sticky situations as she investigates a murder. She does have some help from Detective Gregory Harris, and the chemistry between them makes for an engaging romance. Denise N Wheatley blends the two sides of this tale very well so that both the suspense and the romance are allowed to shine without casting a shadow on the other one. Some things are a little over the top, but it is fiction, and believable or not, it's definitely a fun read.
