Not my favorite from the series. Overall an okay read, but sometimes Eliza and Beckham behaved a bit off?..

When I say that I am blown away by a book, this book is at the top of the list, and it has to be the best Roni Loren book I have ever read. She manages to get a lot of important topics into a book that relates to a lot of women. Most of the time we have this picture in our head what we want our future to look like, we try to follow it, but something/someone gets put in our lives that realize that what we have now is fate. Eliza and Beck are that for each other.

Beck had a difficult childhood which he got out of but he left with a lot of emotional issues. He vowed to never get married or have any children. However, Eliza the therapist who works next door changes all of that. She even convinces him to adopt a cat, who essentially has adopted him.

Eliza picks all the wrong guys, guys she thinks is going to fit the mold she thinks she wants. After a bad date and an embarrassing video later, she takes Beck's advice and disconnects from social media to meet a man the old fashion way. She isn't expecting for fate to step in and that man is already standing in front of her.

This book has so many twists and turns, ups and downs, emotions at every corner so be prepared for the roller coaster ride. But it is soo worth it.

Received ARC in exchange for voluntary honest review.

Roni Loren writes incredible characters. I’m so glad it’s not so “basic.” There is so much depth in these books. After reading so much romance they can all kind of feel like Hallmark movies after a bit. It’s nice when an author can add something different to a story and give you new perspectives. It’s a beautiful thing.

I loved how organic Eliza and Beckhams relationship became there until the end. I love that you could easily feel the passion and sexual tension. I wish we would have found out Beckham’s full story a little sooner because I think it would have been interesting to hear more details about it. Especially since they hinted at it all throughout the book. I did love how Eliza realized that she actually really liked her life but she was putting so much pressure on herself to complete this list of life goals that she couldn’t even see that. I feel like that’s what we all do. We all believe we have to be married by a certain age, have kids by a certain age, have the perfect job by a certain age, that we can’t even enjoy the right now because we’re stressing ourselves out.

Enjoy the right fucking now.

I liked this, but definitely not as much as the previous two in the series. There was something just, unbelievable about this story? Eliza didn’t quite feel like a therapist and Beck had a storyline that didn’t quite ….fit? Or felt rushed? I don’t know.

But regardless, it was sweet, it was emotional, bits were relatable, and I definitely will always read what comes from Roni’s head. I also loved the cameos of our two previous heroines and spending time with them.

The audio was great, I flew through this quickly (minus that brief few weeks when Libby took it back from me) and this series (this book included) will always hold a special place in my heart.

I didn't really like this book. I counted at least 5 times the word "laid" was used, like I just want to get laid. Maybe its me but I don't feel women actually use that word. With that being said, I didn't feel the chemistry between the characters. Both were shallow in their own ways.
