I bought this when it was first released and just got around to reading it. As always, Kennedy Ryan gives such emotional depth not just in romantic relationships, but platonic friendships and relationships with our family. What a balm to the soul to see that independence can still live with the comfort of a good lover to shoulder some of life’s burdens.

This is definitely my favorite book in the series hands down.  Hendrix has been such a beloved character throughout the first 2 books, I was so excited to get her story.  I wasn't quite ready for how emotionally devastating it was going to be for me.  As someone who is currently dealing with a family member's dementia, I was truly heartbroken reading about Hen and her sweet momma.

I loved that Hendrix and Mav were so strong in their beliefs.  They didn't want kids, they knew exactly what they wanted from each other and their relationship, and they communicated.  I love the way that  Kennedy Ryan writes her characters so strong and self assured.  It is so refreshing to see.  2 characters with great communication skills, what more could you honestly ask for?

I loved seeing glimpses of our other favs, Yas and Soledad.  I love the themes of sisterhood and friendship that are portrayed in each of the books in this series.

I think this one in particular delved into heavier topics that felt very relatable to our political climate today which I appreciate.  I love when authors are not afraid to let their stance on real life issues be known and I am so happy to support Kennedy Ryan for this reason among many others.

final book in the series. loved getting to know hendrix more! loved how the author incorporated alzheimer’s and taking care of family into the story line - made things more human than just having a steamy romance. some things mav did annoyed him but all in all i’m enjoyed hendrix and mavs story

Amazing book, Maverick was down bad just as much as Ryan Shay which I adore and miss Hendrix was so good. She stood her ground and knew herself so well and made all the best decision for herself which was so nice to see.
Their tension at the start and Mavs determination to pine and win Hen over was brilliant.
No third act breakup which I loved. Also loved seeing the Yasmen, Josiah, Soledad and Judah appearances, especially all the female friendships. Mavericks ex Zere was so annoying but I did like the drama element she added to the book and how Maverick was so protective of Hen to her. Hens mums Alzheimer’s story was so sad but again added a lovely depth to the book especially with the sisterhood between Hens mum and her caregiver (her aunt G).
This book so so humorous at times and so sad and loveable too, covered all the emotions.
My one flaw is maybe I would’ve liked to see a little more of Mavericks daughter Tamia interacting with both MCS I do feel like she was forgot about a little bit and as a dad he would’ve talked to her more.
The side plot aswell of both their assistants Skipper and Bolt getting together and their banter was so good I’d read their book.
I loved Hen not wanting to have kids and how much Mav and Hen understood one another and fitted into each others lives and how their one rule was to just be good to each other. They really did prove to one another how much they loved eo and Mav SPOILED HERRR!!
The use of Wagwan and hey Gorgeous had me embarrassingly giddy and kicking my feet.
As Kennedy Ryan mentioned in the end Hens drama of her company being sued never got resolved even though the couple had a happy ending in the book. She talked about how that was intentional because for women, in particular black women, these obstacles are thrown at you out of nowhere and can be so unfair and unethical. And it’s not always guaranteed to get resolved quickly, it was real and unexpected but also highlighted how important it is to think more about these issues yourself once reading the book and I loved that.
This book was 5star for me, definitely not a 6 out of 5. But a solid 5. I will be picking up more Kennedy Ryan now I’ve finished this series

This one ranks lower for me out of the Skyland trilogy! Still a great read and tackled complex issues — just not as rich as the first two!
