What a delicious, grown woman slow-burn. This book rotates between spice that gave me goosebumps, friendship moments that made me grin, and tough moments around racism and dealing with aging parents that made me cry. The main characters are lovable and mature. I’m not sure what else you could ask for in a romance. I can say that I understand the Kennedy Ryan hype now.

4.5 ⭐. I can't believe that this is the first book I have read by this author. Let's just say this is far from the last book I will grab from this author. This author is able to bring spicy, emotions and well-done writing into a book like it's as easy as breathing. I didn't even know that I had accidentally jumped into the middle of a series it was so well done. The narration was just so impeccably done. A+ in making the characters come alive.
