This was a good fictional narrative centered on adoption, mixed with a bit of romance, and sprinkled with a smidge of comedy.  I liked having the view points of the three different women with how adoption affected their lives.  My favorite character was Grandpa, though.  This would make a great beach read, with the majority of the book taking place on Cape Cod in the summer.

I'll be honest, I have never read a book by Kristan Higgins despite being familiar with her name. But when you put bookstore into a plot, I am bound to check almost anything out. It's a little repetitive for my taste in certain spots, but I did enjoy the characters overall and find myself willing to pick another story by her up in the future.

I received an ecopy of this book via Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.

This book had so much promise, but it just didn’t come together for me. The main character Harlow was, for me, rather one-dimensional, trapped by the decisions she’d made when she was 17. I enjoyed the times she stepped outside that, but even those steps were in some ways bound by the past. I kind of liked the book, but the most telling thing I can share is that I finished it two days ago but had to refer back to the synopsis to remember what exactly it was about. It isn’t a bad book, just nowhere near as good as some others that Higgins has written.
