Kyra Aramis has answered an ad for a piano teacher. She is excited as this will be her first time traveling to another planet other than Earth. Kyra will be going to the planet of Darconia. All Kyra knows about this planet is that it is dry like a desert and the people living there are reptilian.

Once Kyra arrives and gets her first good look at Darconia she is shocked. The people there are clothed in barely anything at all. Before Kyra can get herself composed, she is whisked away to the dining hall where she meets Queen Scalia and her daughter Princess Zealon, whom Kyra will be teaching piano to. As if there couldn’t be any more surprises Kyra thinks, Queen Scalia shows Kyra her prized collection of exotic cats. Their names are Trag and Tychar. They are brothers and 100% male in every part of the way.

The queen presents Kyra with Tychar to keep her company during her stay on Darconia. Instantly Kyra becomes aroused by Tychar and the feelings are mutual. But how will Kyra feel when Trag comes into the picture. Can anyone say three-some?

Rogue is book three in the Cat Star Chronicles series by Cheryl Brooks. This series is about a bunch of hot, sexy males who have cat like features. They have been separated and each book is about a different guy or guy’s story. The best part about this series is that you can read the books in any order. Of course having the male leads as out of this world hunks, who know how to pleasure a woman is not a bad thing either. I instantly fell in love with Cheryl when I read Warrior the second book in this series. I am so surprised that I have not heard more about this author. She is a talented author, who deserves to be praised. I know that from now on I plan to read every single book that Cheryl Brooks writes and I plan to tell all my friends about her.

Erotic Scifi/romance
I've meant to come back to this series for a long time but every time I started this book, I would put it down. I now know why. The beginning is full of set up and descriptions of who Kyra is, why Kyra is leaving her home, and how the trip is to the lizard planet. Then when you get to the lizard planet, Draconia, it is description of the planet, the travel to the palace, the room. You don't even meet Tychar & Trag until well into the story and by then you are a bit bored.

So finally I pushed beyond the set up and read on. From meeting Tychar and Trag, you are again given information about him and his brother. We slowly get the beginning of their relationship and why the lizard Queen has put Tychar to wait on Kyra, a personal servant. Then the story moves at a pretty good pace. It becomes erotic very quickly and stays there. I would classify this as Erotic Scifi and in that classification, say it is pretty good. The story is light for Scifi but strong on erotica.

I read a review where the person complained that in the books that the characters are monogamous and argue -- only to a point-- as even in the first book, [b:Slave|2958520|Slave (Cat Star Chronicles, #1)|Cheryl Brooks|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1347642058s/2958520.jpg|2988026],
Spoiler the main character, Cat, gets oral sex under the table by several women while eating with his love interest, Jack.
, there is secondary sex scenes with others. So expect that it will happen here and in future books. The only time it doesn't seem to happen, is when the characters are isolated like in [b:Warrior|2958524|Warrior (Cat Star Chronicles, #2)|Cheryl Brooks|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1348189179s/2958524.jpg|2988030] & [b:Outcast|6193612|Outcast (Cat Star Chronicles, #4)|Cheryl Brooks|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1348950364s/6193612.jpg|6374042].

Expect a boring beginning then lots of sex with a scifi story background, which is not very complicated but fun. The lizard world is well described and I enjoyed it once I got past the beginning. Then at the very end, you will see Jack and Cat show up, just like in Warrior. This series is ultimately the story of Jack getting/finding the last Zetithians and saving them from extiction.

One thing I like about this series (other than the weirdness) is the settings and descriptions of the aliens cultures. I had some issues with the character development of the heroine; she changed too quickly for me to find the changes believable. I think I am also getting bored with the ease with which the characters get together; I understand that this race is very easygoing but I would like there to be some challenges for the couple's relationship to overcome. There are external forces/challenges but I found these ones quite simple to handle in the long run; to wit, these were the shortest chapters in the book.

Rogue is book #3 in the Cat Star Chronicles by new-to-me author Cheryl Brooks. I've mentioned before that I'm not a big reader in the romance genre, and I've definitely never read a romance/sci-fi book. My first thought on inter-species romance was "ewww", the second was "hmmm, it could work." No kidding.

Kyra Aramis is hired as piano teacher to a princess. So what if said princess is light-years away on Darconia, and Kyra's never even left the country before? It should be an adventure at the very least, right? And who'd have thunk that downsized, snub-nosed versions of the T-rex (in Kyra's own words) could even play the piano?

In any case, Kyra travels to Darconia and takes up her assignment. Whereupon the queen, Scalia, introduces Kyra to two of her slaves - Zetithian brothers who are devastatingly gorgeous and incredibly sensual. They're also humanoid, which contributed to the 2nd thought on inter-species romance - see above... The fact that they walk around mostly naked doesn't help alleviate the sexual tension present - Kyra's from the two yummilicious specimens of virility, theirs from not having had any in twenty years. Twenty years! Can you just imagine??

The world-building is detailed enough to be imagined, as are the various races present in the queen's private slave stash. The storyline moves along, mostly predictably. The *s* scenes don't overpower the storyline, though I cannot imagine it's good for a girl to be walking around thinking about *s* ALL the time. Then again, this is a romance, after all, regardless of which inter-galactic space it occupies. There's more of a plot than girl-meets-boy, girl-falls-for-boy, girl-lives-happily-ever-after-with-boy, which is just dandy with me, even if girl most probably does live-happily-ever-after-with-boy. And no, I'm not going to tell you if she picks one, or which one. =) Hah!

Rogue was an enjoyable read, if you like romance novels set in space.

This series is not exactly high entertainment. The plots are silly but if you just take the books as they are, they're a lot of fun to read :)
