Very strange. I'm not sure I care enough about this plot (which is very clearly being made up as it goes) to read the next volume, let alone keep reading until it finishes in 2050. Interesting concept, I guess, but the art isn't beautiful enough and the plot isn't coherent enough for me to care to finish.

Weird little graphic novel...I am intrigued though so I will read the next one!

Josh Simmons draws one comic page a day until 2050, culminating in a 600-page nothing.

Disturbing and inventive, Jessica Farm is--if nothing else--a fascinating experiment in fairly impromptu storytelling. The pace is quicker, the action is punchier. Jauntier, more angular, at times it could use some space to breathe. But for what it is, I like it.

As I've mentioned before, Josh Simmons goes to some extreme places, touches nerves. At times, it feels a little much, but at the same time, it's an extremity that's uniquely his. I go back and forth on it.

Nevertheless. I'm excited to check out subsequent volumes, and keep track until 2050. Whether you stick with it or not, check this first volume out.

So Josh Simmons has been drawing one page a month for the past eight years resulting in this 96 page comic. He will continue drawing one page a month until he gets to 600 pages in the year 2050. He is making it up as he goes along and it often reads like it. Still the book totally has its moments and is interesting as a sort of long form stream of consciousness experiment. I will totally check out the next volume when it comes out in eight years.
