3.5 just like the first book in this series I found this to be a guilty pleasure read. Although I liked this one less than the first mainly because the main character Serenity was so annoying and kept finding excuses for why she couldn’t love the love interest. It was so frustrating. I really enjoyed The love interest though because he was that swoon worthy bad guy and I loved his perspective. The ending though had me wanting to know what is gonna happen next. Definitely a major cliffhanger.

Oh my god.
The ending.
How dare.
So rude.

I stand by everything I said in my review of book one. The violence, the intensity of the king and Serenity's relationship, the angst, the tension, the utter heartbreak...

If the third book wasn't out already, and I had to wait for it, I would probably riot after that cliffhanger. Dear lord on heaven, what an ending.

On to book three...

"I know I'm someone powerful, someone dangerous. I know I'm not afraid of pain or death. And these men and women? They should be afraid of me. Because whoever I am, I am violent, and I will be having my revenge".
This series is beautiful and tragic all at once. Thalassa has a way with words. She writes passages that leap off the page and flow into my heart. Her words echo. They leave you feeling ruined, broken, almost destroyed but salvageable. Her characters are so incredibly flawed you recognize yourself in them at times. The romance that developed between Serenity and Montes is a slow burning inferno that could burn the whole world down. Love can heal all wounds. And the way Montes loves her is all encompassing.

"Serenity will live--she must. I rely upon it, and humanity relies upon it. Otherwise, I won't rest until the world burns".

It is almost too much. He is too fierce. Too raw. I couldn't help but love his monster. This is action packed, fast paced, and one heck of a roller coaster.

It's a good story, it has such potential, however everything feels anticlimactic, when I feel something epic is happening, the results end up being a disappoinment... I wish I could write a different review

These characters not my cup of tea. Especially the main male character. He's just overall not pleasant like there are aspects of this book which before reading this series. I thought I liked.  But after reading this, I discovered that no I do not at all like these aspects.
And I guess I would give this book. The rating that I did because it definitely made me febuildings positive, I don't think so.here are aspects of this book which before reading this series. I thought I liked.  But after reading this, I discovered that no I do not at all like these aspects.
