Tabby/Oro

Tabby was comical and spoiled. She was using the mating lottery to escape and wasn't really happy her mate had to put his mission first. Admittedly, Oro was a bit of a jerk at first. He, like the heroes before him, soon learned his mate would not be ignored and was a heck of a lot more useful than a brood mare. I did like that he bragged on her bravery, ““My mate is extremely brave and confident. We should ask her help in further missions regarding this matter.”

How is the author's writing? Good
Is there sexual content? Yes
How is the story narrated? Third person
How would you describe the pace? Fast
How would you describe the characters? Semi-developed

I read this story as part of the five book Bundle (ASIN: B01AEG893

This was a fun read. I enjoyed the characters Tabby and Oro. Oro is sent on a mission to take out the leader of the techno drugs and he needs to do it quickly and stealthily because there's a code that could control all of the users. Tabby joins the mate lottery looking for a way out of the life she's been in. She doesn't use the techno drugs but because of where she grew up and the options available to her, has been involved in it. She was with one of the captains for the leader of the techno drug. Oro meets Tabby as he is coming to Earth to complete his mission so takes her with him. Oro knows that the mission is critical and very important so he tries to focus on that, rather than his mate but at the same time keep her happy while he does so. He struggles with this.
Tabby is impatient because she wants out of the dangerous territory and Oro doesn't tell her what he is doing right away. It takes them longer to get to know each other because of the situation that they are in. The situation does lend them to figure out the character of the other person though. The mating drive pushes both of them to be near each other, even when Tabby is a little upset about how the situation is going and Oro is trying to focus on his mission. The sex is explicit when you get there but they do plenty of exploring in the meantime. The story is interesting and enjoyable. This is not the first in the series but can be read as a standalone without issues.
