Pretty much what I was expecting (it is a romcom after all) but much funnier. An enjoyable and easy listen! I had a good time. And I did enjoy how very British it was

Cheesy, with fanfic-esque writing, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It reminded me of red white and royal blue in the haters to lovers with need for fake dating that that book had.

I won’t critique the writing because honestly it was overdone and compensating for something and I could go on for ages about it.

-the charities name was stupid
- Oliver’s parents were assholes
-homophobia never adds anything to the plot
- token straight or gay friends being a highlight/plot point is stupid.

Overall I’m glad luc and Oliver ended happy and I’m interested to see how the next book goes.

Cute premise! Good pace! J’aime que le character development de Luc est progressif et pas rushed! J’ai apprécié le chaotic Luc! Also que les personnages etait tres tres fleshed out

In all honesty, the book was fine.

I'm just a little tired of reading the style of psychological posturing that is both superior and cynical from a self deprecating homosexual for the tenth time, and the main character for this one was extra insufferable.

The male lead was predictable on account of being both sweet and occasionally yawn inducing. It did, however, make it a bit more humorous to imagine him as something closer to Miles Edgeworth. I'm ignoring how that seems almost like a coping mechanism.

I'm probably going to read the sequel then grumble about it too.

Brilliant. Bloody brilliant.
As a boring 9-5 gay, I identified with Oliver so so so much, and the feeling of feeling alienated by the stereotypes of your own community?  Spot on.
And Luc? God, I love that fuck-up.

This book is a romance book, yes. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it has genuinely amazing characters and is written so well, I had serious heartache while listening to- well. Go find out for yourself.
Seriously the best iteration of the fake boyfriend trope I have come across.
