This was a romance novel gifted to me by a family friend (because I love dragons and urban fantasy). It's murder mystery plot is surrounded by the pure fluff of it's absurd romance story, and while I'm sure the humor and tone would resonate with others, I find it didn't entirely hit the mark for me. However, the side characters were a joy to watch throughout the story, and I honestly liked them more than I liked Drake and Aisling. Though, I think I like most things better than Drake, arrogant man love interest just isn't my jazz.
The book is at it's best when it's being a fantasy murder mystery with Aisling and her demon dog Jim and the taxi driver. Those are the best parts of the book, I almost wish it wasn't a romance and we could've cut out more of the Drake parts.
