I trudged through this book.

I was hoping the The Séance Society would be a gateway back into mystery novels for me, the kind of who-dun-its I hadn't picked up in years. However, I found myself entirely bored. Around 100 pages I found myself begging to put down the book and pick up something, anything else!

I found the twists predictable, and the characters, despite as their insane names, were totally forgettable and easily confused. I felt absolutely nothing for any of the characters, and the majority of them were so insane they were impossible to identify with. I don't like to put books down, especially when I've already invested a lot of time and reading into them, but I stopped around page 230, and just found myself unable to continue.

Maybe I'll pick it up and finish it in the near future (I only have a little over 50 pages left!) but until then I'm planning to read something much more enjoyable.

While I was not able to devote an entire post to this title, I included it as a Halloween read.
