James Rhodes is a brilliant musician, a passionate artist, a relatable author, and really fucking funny. In spite of the dark subject matter of this book, Mr. Rhodes (James? Jimmy? I feel like I know him pretty well after reading this. How casually do I address him?) has a dark, twisted sense of humor that made me laugh harder than any book has in ages. On top of that, this book is poignant, heartbreaking, infuriating, devastating, uplifting, and able to fill you with pure joy. In short, this book reads like one of the pieces of music Mr. Rhodes is so passionate about. If you haven't read this book yet, I recommend listening to the pieces of music that relates to each chapter. Mr. Rhodes has created a playlist on Study to accompany this book and I highly recommend listening while reading. Also, if you get a chance, he created 3 playlists on his Spotify account where he introduces brilliant pieces of music before a track plays. I can't recommend the things Mr. Rhodes has done for music enough. Go buy his albums.
