Kit has been a Caretaker for the past 12 years, but is desperate to get back to work after a 6 month suspension. So desperate, she must accept an assignment caring for Lenora Hope— suspected, but never convicted, of murdering her family decades ago when she was only 17. The details of what happened that night are a mystery, but Lenora has been condemned by the public eye and her tale the subject of local urban folklore. Kit can tell something is wrong, but without the financial ability to leave, she instead is determined to learned the truth of what exactly happened that night and why exactly Lenora Hope is the only one left.
My experience reading thrillers is limited, but oh boy, I hope they’re all as good as this one. Everything detail written in the books adds to the unease and suspension, leaving me desperate for the knowledge of what exactly was happening and what transpired 54 years earlier. I suspected a couple of the twists, but when the knot began unraveling, I was shocked and flabbergasted repeatedly. I DEVOURED this book. Consider me thoroughly thrilled!

A solid 4-4.5 for Riley Sager's newest book. I truly enjoyed the story, although a few times I felt it went back in time a little too much, and the transitions for those memories was a little abrupt.

Similar to "Lizzy Borden" this weaves the tale of a lone survivor of her families murder... sort of.

I expected part of the twist at the very end, but there were a few twists I didn't see coming, it's still a great read.
