I'm a sucker for Pride and Prejudice adaptations and thoroughly enjoyed this one. Sittenfeld took some interesting departures from the original but overall I think it was an excellent modernization. I would imagine some people might not enjoy a few liberties taken, especially P & P purists, but I thought it was a lot of fun.

DNF at 15%

I’m glad I stopped at the fatphobia and didn’t stay for the transphobia.

This is one of those cases where reading the GR reviews first would have been helpful. As it was, I came here at the first mention of fatphobia in the book then read the reviews and saw it got a lot worse. DNFing now is a blessing in disguise.
