This collection of short stories has a little something for everyone. The tales of revenge, comeuppance, and the search for justice range from humorous to serious. Several of the stories included were nominated for national mystery awards and it is easy to see why -- they are entertaining and enjoyable for any mystery lover who likes a story with a twist. The narrators for each story have distinct voices -- female and male, young and old -- that ring true for each story. I'd previously read the story nominated for the 2012 Agatha Award ("The Lord is My Shamus") and knew that if the other stories were similar, I'd be in for a good read (and I was! :)). I enjoyed the author's comments at the end of each story and thought they enhanced the collection. I'll definitely be on the lookout for future works by this author!
