Despite owning this book since its release, I didn’t read it until this morning.

Normally, I love poetry but this didn’t do it for me. I read the whole thing, hoping my opinions would change but it just felt more and more like Tumblr posts from the early 2010s. It was really hard to finish. 

As far as themes and topics go, it’s right down my ally. There’s just something about it that misses the mark. At least for me.

I should have 100% read the triggers before reading this. I’m super glad I listened to the audiobook read by the author because then I could get the cadence of the poems. It’ll be a while before I try poetry again but this was great.

This book is a slap across the face.

some poems are very raw and detached, others are more kind and self-forgiving.

Every women should read this book. Loved it!
