This was a really cute book about best friends turned couple. I didn't really like Tate he seemed very standoffish, and it was weird how they hadn't been together long or really even kissed but yet he was asking her to move in. Tate didn't really even take Darcy's career into account with his decision just, "oh i figured she could work remotely. "

Elliot and Darcy has been friends since they were in kindergarten. Elliot has known he's in love with her for the past year and he's willing to do whatever it takes to get the woman he loves. Hoping she feels the same way. This is definitely a feel good, heart warming love story.

This was okay. I read the blurb, and I understood that these 2 are going on a date with other people. I didn't know that they both secretly love each other, but won't do anything about it. Elliot says he loves Darcy, but he has "needs". Um yeah. That doesn't require you to bring the person you're sleeping with at the moment to every get together you have with the person you "love". I thought the dating other people thing would be over fairly quickly, but Darcy is with the other guy for most of the book. As much as she liked him, it was hard for me to accept Elliot and Darcy as a couple. This one wasn't for me, but if you can look past other people dating the main characters, then give it a try.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Spicy friend turns loved story

I knew the Date Date was a story about 2 friends who try to keep their feelings from each other but I was not prepared for the erotic scenes. I had to fan myself! This was a cute, easy romance. The author gave us just enough backstory to make you like the characters and understand their angst over not messing up their friendship. And this author can write a good sex scene!!

Tara does it again!

The Date Dare is a wonderful story about Darcy & Elliott. I’m used to Tara’s smuttier side, so this was a nice surprise. It’s a back and forth, “Will they, won’t they,” that is done well. I’m definitely ready for more smut, but a nice romance done well is a treat!

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

This was one of those super terrific blurbs that just fizzle out as your reading your copy. Elliot is in love with Darcy, as they are besties, they think it's not a good enough reason to date each other because best friends are harder to find than dates. I'm big on eye rolls and that got a super big one from me. So you watch as they go through dates and finally realize what's been said all along.

What did I like? This is a go to author so I'm a bit surprised at how bored I was reading this book. Elliot has no romantic bone seeing as he loves her and sets her up on dates with friends that won't even make a move on her. Darcy is just as bad, setting him up on dates that he pretty much ruins with in a few hours. It was ad nauseum watching them go through all this for what?

Would I buy this book? No, I would not recommend either cause it was such a disappointment. I could not even relate to what these two are going through.

Thoughts for the author.... go back to BDSM books....pretty please.

Full Review on my blog!

Awww, omg. This was a fun read, it definitely hooked me from the start!

Darcy and Elliot have been friends since they were 7. Their feelings have been platonic for so long but in a split second Elliot realizes his are more. But of course, he doesn’t want to risk losing Darcy’s.

One thing I really didn't like was that title gives the book away, soo it was predictable at times. So, one day they're hanging out with one of Elliot's 'girlfriends', and Darcy basically tells Elliot, 'wtf are you doing? You're totally dating the wrong type of girls.' So she dares him, that Shea's going to find someone suitable for him to date, and well, he gets to do the same for her. The dating dare between them starts to get serious for Darcy, Elliott needs to man up. So how does he find the nerve to tell his best friend he’s in love with her without losing her? Well, you'll have to find out...

Even though it was predictable, it was romantic, and I really did enjoy reading it. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. I recommend it!

Okay, so I’m not going to lie. This genre of book goes against everything I don’t really like with romance. I’m not a rom-com fan, I like my dark, twisted, kinky, intense reads. Like Tara’s earlier work, The Submissive series.

But the fact is I love Tara’s books, the style, and the way she can capture your mind and run wild with a plot that’ll have you on the edge of your seat all the way through. So when I saw it was in fact a Tara Sue Me book, I grabbed it, one-clicked without even reading the blurb, and you know what? I’m so glad I did! I had fun with this book, it was light yet, not to light, it was funny as hell, still pretty hot and just an easy flowing read and I think it was something I needed between reading these darker sides to romance.

This book is a friends-to-lovers romance, about two best friends Darcy and Elliot, that were just that, best friends, nothing more, nothing less. But something changed for Elliot and he begun to see another side to Darcy, a side that had him wanting her in ways he never expected. But of course, he didn’t act on it. The last thing he wanted to do was risk their friendship. So through a period of time, he started to date different women here and there, trying with everything he could do remove these feeling for her from his mind.

Darcy noticed his serial dating and pulled him up on it, telling him he needed to find a decent girl he could finally settle down with. Which ended up turning into a dare, a game to her but he was willing to play it. He dared her to find the same thing, to find the perfect guy for herself, even though he knew he was that guy. It wasn’t as easy as it sounded, they were meant to be together, they were the perfect match so trying to find another perfect match when the real one is standing right in front of you? It’s impossible. It was Elliot’s mission to prove to Darcy that he was the one, he was her happily ever after, and her his.

This was cute, and I loved everything About Elliot, the way he was with Darcy, the things he did to try and prove to her that he was the one for her.

I absolutely loved this book and it’s taken me by surprise. Extremely well written, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Tara, the characters developed throughout the story perfectly and she made it a fun and enjoyable read.

5 stars!

Romance novels are all pretty predictable but usually engaging characters and some comedy (or drama) make them a fun read. This one was lacking something. It moved too fast without enough character development to make me care about them I think.

Received an ARC from Netgalley.
