I've done three hikes from this book so far, and I've got to say, this book is OK. It is definitely not to the level of a Falcon guidebook, or one of the more local NYNJTC books, but this was all I could find when I was looking for a Catskills hiking guide.

This book is pretty out of date, having been published in 2002, and I'm not sure if it's been updated since then. The maps are really not great, you should absolutely but supplemental maps if you're going to use this. The trail descriptions are pretty middling. The ideas for where to go are the main draw of this guide. I honestly wish someone would write something better.
