Months ago I read the ones most talked about (namely "Cursed Bunny" and "Embodiment"), and was disappointed, but upon the second time opening this book I found some other stories that I did enjoy reading.
It felt like the term ‘magical realism’ is used so loosely nowadays (or I have a very narrow understanding of it).

I actually liked:
"Goodbye, My Love", sci-fi so an easy like for me
"Reunion", this is about Cptsd, I guess u need to have lived experience to understand this one?

Also liked
"Scars", a twist on good o demon vs hero genre

Something amiss
"Snare", the settings are captivating but imo the development in the latter half was too heavy-handed

Bland to banal:
"Ruler of the Winds and Sands", very simple and straight forward, reads like a story out of a children’s book
"Head", psychological horror
"Cursed Bunny", actually not bad the second time
"Embodiment", psychological horror that I don’t get?

Skimmed:
"Home Sweet Home"
“The Frozen Finger"

This book Is translated from Korean, so I feel it didn’t translate well into English as it felt it was written for a school grade reading level. However, It is clear bora Chung has quite the imagination and although only a few of the stories were memorable, I enjoyed how absurd and surreal the stories were.

Good story collection, originally in Korean. The stories vary wildly from grotesque and gore-filled horror to slow stories of creeping horror. Mostly it seems like a theme this book generally runs with is survival at any cost, and what the consequences are when that comes at te expense of another person.

As it is horror, definitely checking the CW is something people should do before jumping in.
