Delightful tale of a logophile reading and cunningly making his way across old Texas with a recently freed German-turned-Kiowa-Indian.

I have read the book and then watched the movie. Both were good. The book is slower but let’s you get to know the characters deeper than the movie. Also the movie left some things out but you get swept up in the scenery and the fast paced action. It was a sweet historical fiction of the west with self discovery, love and friendship of an old honorable man and a lost child.
