It is fascinating how the stories of the Gods, or in this case how the story of "American Gods" changes from medium to medium.

When I first read the novel I was pretty lukewarm about it in truth. (I think I had flashbacks to reading The Old Man And The Sea in middle school and not being impressed by it).

Then I saw the first season of the show version and was swept away by the characters and the story and the wonder of it all. It is the lens I see the world through now and how I see my own faith journey. All the Gods need our belief and our love and a few hugs too.

Then I read this graphic novel which is the same story but told differently (make sense there are no single versions of any myth or faith systems). It is not the show line by line or even story by story but it is an amazing retelling. Enjoy the stories of this world which we need to remember in this day and age.

Got a Neil Gaiman bundle for Christmas and this was part of it. I love his storytelling and I love that his stories often get translated to graphic novels which are a very fun medium to consume. A very good adaptation.
