A fun, well-told story that brings Marceline and PB closer. <3

The Adventure Time Original Graphic Novels are longer, more sustained takes on Adventure Time storytelling, which can make them drag a little more than the setting usually does. While sometimes containing some original ideas, often this amounts to an excuse to dress the characters up in various outfits (which is fine, of course). Thunder Road is a typical case, focusing on Marceline competing with selfish motorcycle racing cloud folk to keep them from flooding the Candy Kingdom. All in all, separated from ongoing plot threads from its source material, it feels like a throwback to earlier seasons of the TV show, which can be some comfort food for fans as things became more fraught as the series began wrapping up in 2018.
