Very good explanation of the narsissism spectrum and the differences between healthy and toxic narcissism. However, I was disappointed that the audio version promised a .pdf of the narcissim spectrum test that was not available through Audible.

I loved the reframe of Narcissism but I must say the studies used do not have a lot of ecological validity and I felt like a lot of the book was speculation. I didn't like the psychologists/patient interactions perhaps they scared me but honestly this really got me to look inward and a lot of good lessons were conveyed through the book. My taste is more for neuroscience or phenomenon based this book is excellent for carers or people persons to deal with and explore narcissism and how it is miscontrued by society and widespread myths.

Personally now this is allowing me to see that addiction can be for anything even feeling special.

Wow! I've got to say even though as a whole book I thought it was a bit piecemeal, this book vastly expanded my understanding of Narcissism, particularly to the low end of the spectrum which would be the vulnerable narcissists who dont have enough healthy Narcissism to be whole people. Very informative and I've saved the quiz from this book for the future.

This was a great book that discussed healthy and unhealthy narcissism. It gave good suggestions on how to deal with narcissists in your personal life and work as well as dealing with social media and parenting tips on how not to raise narcissistic children

Calling social media, “SoMe” drove me nuts. Saying he “could care less” about it drove me even more nuts. He couldn’t care less, dear editor.

I learned a lot from this book. He weaves good information and case studies in a way that keeps the book from being too heavy. He also provides solid info on how change can be made.

Malkin's exploration of narcissism and it's opposite, echoism (taken also from the same myth), has much in common with attachment theory and yet in this day of constant declarations of narcissistic behavior concerning even entire generations, it's good to stop and consider just what is going on with the desire to be noticed and considered special, even a little bit. As in so many things of psychology, it is the excesses which are a problem, not the vast in-between and that space is far better understood after reading this book.
