I found this vol felt like a filler
there was no continuation from the plots introduced in vol 1
you can honestly skip this vol and you wouldn't even notice , it was very much a self contained story

Lady Mechanika is helping a friend's child find her missing grandfather. this involves traveling through the desert, going through a jungle and fights on flying ships.

I was super happy to get back into this unique steampunk world and absolutely loved the new story! Kick butt and elegant hero Lady Mechanika travels across the globe to stop a villainous group. The story was thrilling and intense and I wish it were longer! The supernatural element wasn't so jarring, and the artwork continued to be absolutely stellar. The characters are fun and strong. Akina herself was a level of cool that almost exceeded Lady Mechanika's! I can't get enough of these novels and highly recommend them to any lover of fantasy, adventure, and steampunk!

3 Stars for the writing, 4 for the art. This is super pulpy stuff, but fun and drawn beautifully. The writing isn't bad, it just doesn't stick out as especially creative or witty. I love how she has a different outfit on every cover. This one was much more "Indiana Jones" than the first book, which focused on her origins (which weren't really revealed, so hoping to get back to that).

The Graphics/ Artwork

The graphic was once again beautiful, I loved the gadgets and costumes as much as I did last time. Benitez, once again did a great job displaying Lady Mechanika and her allies, who were much more diverse than the last volume.

The Story

The story was a bit more slow than the last one and I didn't have much of a care about it in the beginning. I had to stop for a couple of days before I picked it back up again. The story picked up again towards the second half of the book which I really appreciated. This took the story away from Lady Mechanika's origin and introduced new characters. This story showcased the type of things our heroine usually does on a daily basis and that's help people. Considering how Lady Mechanika feels about herself, you can tell that everyone who meets her and knows her really thinks highly of her. There was a lot of speaking

Our Heroine

Lady Mechanika shows a lot more of her sensitive side in this book, and while the book showcased her fighting skills there was not as much this time instead showing that our heroine can use her brains almost as well as her brawns. This was a point on the books behalf.

I quite enjoyed the first one, but the open threads from that are basically not touched and I don't care about this stuff
