This book was hard for me to read at times (says the gal who easily finished it in a day), but largely because of the subject matter and partially because of the shifts in perspective mid-chapter. As far as the subject matter, these sorts of themes make me a bit uneasy, which I know is true for many people.

Madison really was the star of this novel! What a gal. Anyway, I wish the story had been a bit longer, or maybe that it hadn’t been so easy to put the pieces together early on. I’d be interested in reading more from this author for sure.

An amazing story of resilience and strength! It is sad how circumstances beyond our control shape and change us- especially these 2 children held captive in the same place 30 years apart. All I can think of is how one decision causes ripples that reach through years! The “child finders” story in itself is haunting! Excellent read!!

While the subject matter of this story was very difficult, the story was told in such a moving fashion, I couldn’t put it down! A young girl goes missing in the mountains of Oregon while searching for a Christmas tree with her family. Three years later, the Child Finder comes searching to see if she can be found. In the end, they find and heal each other.

I don’t know how to feel about this book. I liked the story overall but
the way she writes about certain things gave me the ick. I could have done without the detailed description of a naked child’s body
.

3.5 Audiobook
great narration
I liked it, not loved it. It might be just a first book in a series, need to get to know the characters better thing. It was a suspense but I never felt that edge if my seat, omg you've got to hurry thing. I like a more adrenaline rushed suspense. I may give it another chance someday.
