Wonderful brief coming of age story about Ginnie, daughter of former Roanoke (and all around bad tempered jerk). What could be worse than getting your first period - and change - when you are far from home alone? The author lets us see how the pack dynamics and politics play into this scenario. We also wind up really liking Ginnie and looking forward to meeting her as an adult in future books. Plus, Tom, smile.
