I’m excited for this series. I don’t know exactly what I expected, but the plot was much more complex than I thought it would be. With that being said, it was a quick learn despite my lackluster world building compression skills. I did almost DNF because of the sexual assault themes but I was compelled enough by the overall story to stick with it. Once they outlawed the elixir, I felt I could breathe again. I thought there was going to be a faster romance plot and am glad to see it more as a slow burn subplot with the interwoven flashbacks. Didn’t expect the twist at the end. I’m excited to see how it plays out!
