Ah, the oft referred to Island Adventure. That should be in sarcastic quotes, for sure. Sure, it's an adventure...but it's a little more...traumatic? than the title suggests. And by traumatic I mean I'm traumatized because Stacey's dad and so many people in BSC-land are the worst in this book. Not even going to mention Mary Anne because it's starting to be a running gag at this point.

Sometimes you need that nostalgia. (I was a BSC kid.)

As a kid my best friends sister had the whole BSC series on a book shelf in her room. I thought she was so grown up. And I envied this bookshelf. And would often poke my head into that room just to look at it.
And when I read BSC, I felt like such a grown up.
And while I might have still been a little too young to understand some of the issues dealt with in these books, I do appreciated that Ann M. Martin tackled age appropriate issues, some being deeper than others, but still important.

This was a great stroll down memory lane with the girls from BSC.

It's crazy to think I still remembered each girl's handwriting.

Read this purely for the nostalgia. It was ridiculously terrible, but in a good way. The kind of adventure kids and teens would only have in a book where the parents are all idiots letting them go boating alone.

3 stars. This was absolutely absurd but dammit did I love it. LOL. What a mess but it was a fun mess. Nothing about this book made sense. All of the adults in this book were morons but the whole thing of the kids being stuck on the island was interesting. I also liked that this book was such a positive thing for Claudia in the end because I just adore her.

As an adult, it is banana's that Jamie's parents let him go on this boat adventure.
