I loved it! Contains a lot of interesting information considering it's a picture book. The illustrations are adorable!

I love bats, and this is a fun, informative book with adorable illustrations. Good for kids and adults! (Only thing is it was written pre-white nose syndrome so there's nothing about that, but for a general intro to bats, it's great.)

I read this aloud in the library to a group of eager-to-learn 3rd graders who are currently studying mammals. They assured me that they already knew all about bats. I asked them to raise their hands immediately if they learn something new, and that I HOPED that I wasn't wasting their time. They were skeptical, and on the first page, they were feeling pretty smug. "We already learned that!" Next thing you know, they can barely keep their butts on the floor, hands raising left and right, comments and questions galore. They LOVED this book, and so did I. I learned way more about bats than I cared to know, but it was pretty fascinating (this is not just the basics!) I like how the book ended with information about how they are threatened and how we can protect them. Overall, it was a major hit and they argued about who would be allowed to check it out as they wanted to share it with their families.
