I usually love Christine Bell's books, but I couldn't get into this one. I greatly disliked Bee... she comes across as overly bitchy, and while I understand why she thinks the way she does, that doesn't make it ok for her to be a bitch to Cal. I hope I can go back and finish this one at some point, but for now, it'll have to live on my back shelf.

I saw a post about Ms. Bell's Score on Facebook and it immediately made me want to read it! It sounded exactly like my kind of read and I just had to have it. And I can't believe it took me as long as it did before I read it because I absolutely LOVED it!

I loved Bee - she is so great! She's funny and can be a little clumsy and have embarrassing but hilarious things happen to her. Bee is tough, she doesn't fall all over Cal just because he's gorgeous or a football player and she doesn't let him give her any guff. Bee is so unique and fun and of course, she has her flaws, but she's still a fantastic heroine. She's just real and I completely loved her for it and so much more!

And Cal is impossible not to love! He has the sexy thing down and he does have his jerk moments, but for the most part, he's just the best guy ever. He's sweet and understanding, he's fun and amusing, and he's thoughtful and supportive. Cal is positively wonderful and I couldn't have resisted him if I tried and I know you won't be able to either!

Score made me laugh out loud a lot, it brought a smile to my face constantly, and melted my heart frequently. I had the best time reading and I never wanted to stop. It was funny and sweet, steamy and heartwarming, and beautiful and amazing. It was just so good and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Score is the first book in the Skin in the Game series, it's told from Cal and Bee's POV, and they do get their happily-ever-after.

Typical plot. Didn’t really like the main character, she was annoying and unlikable with her opinion of all football players and how she couldn’t stand up to her father. Thank goodness for Cal and him showing Bee that all football players aren't crappy like her dad. All in all, the romance felt rushed and the drama was over the top.

I throughly enjoyed this book. I loved Cal from the moment he was introduced. I picked this book up hoping I could read some of it and fall asleep, instead I got sucked in and finished it. It would make for a great vacation read.

I was hooked from the first moment you meet Bee and Cal. Their relationship starts with hostility, but when they slowly get to know one another, it blossoms into something that neither of them expected. The story is sweet and hot, and I loved it!

So this book definitely lost points for the random kidnapping that took place in the middle of the book. It felt very out of place. Also, the main girl annoyed me a lot because she just projected her daddy issues repeatedly, which got old very fast.

Definitely a great read.

I liked this one a lot more than Knocked Up, I mean the virgin trope again was a bit much but Bell took her time with the characters in this story allowing the reader to become invested in their successes, failures and relationships.

Again I'll mention two virgin female leads.in a row is pushing it. I get that their are college virgins out there, but I don't know I'm not in the generation that somehow respects a female lead more for being virginal and hooking up with the player who gives up his man who really ways because he's so touched by the gift of her precious flower. I mean nothing against virgins but when I read one all I hear in my head is Really? Seriously? You went there? I'd say we've finally reached a period in history where it's socially acceptable for a woman to be as experienced as a man and I like it when the books I read reflect that so the virgin lead is always points off for me.

Additionally I would have liked more of a play by play than a montage of his recovery so that we'd have more time to witness the little moments that made them more than strangers. However overall it was a good story and I enjoyed reading it.

Funny, quick read!
Sometimes it takes me a long time to pick up a book and start reading again, but when I read the blurb to this book I knew I needed it.
It was funny, sweet, a little crazy and the best part, a really cute love story.
So if anyone wants a quick but satisfying read I recommend this one.

I loved Cal.

Okay, he was pretty obsessed with getting his knee better and getting himself back on the field--but it's more than understandable when we hear his story. And his single-minded shove-everything-else-aside-I'm-not-going-to-listen-to-anyone attitude gradually faded away as he worked with Bee on his rehab. And he was such a great guy--doing everything he could to show Bee who he really was, trying to support her, especially with her family--prime book boyfriend material in tight football pants, definitely. Though I'm still not sure some of those...maneuvers that they engaged in were really a good idea, in the interest of getting him field-ready and all... ;)

Bee was a fun character, and very likable--though her football-player bias went a bit too far. How could it have taken her so long to see that Cal was nothing like her dad? It was frustrating at times--but fortunately she pulled her head out of her butt at the end and made up for a lot of the I-want-to-give-her-a-good-shake moments.

The crazy ex-girlfriend drama was a bit extreme, but it did help to make Bee's turnaround believable, especially toward her mom. Overall this was a fun sports-themed new adult read, and I'm looking forward to more in the series. (Because "skin in the game"? How can you not want more of that? ;))
