My rating does not mean I did not like it, but I don't think this was the book for ME. Was not expecting such vivid description of c*s g*y m*n's sex lives, and I'd be lying if I said that wasn't the biggest ick for me throughout the reading experience.

A heavy read for sure, one that is unflinching in showing us the destructive side of grief. But glad that it ends on a hopeful note. Some things that stuck out to me:

- such vivid descriptions of Houston! I was raised there, so it was easy for me to visualize some of these places that I've been to. 
- also appreciated the food descriptions as well. 
- was touched at the transformative power of community, and how your people will rally behind you when you need them. Even when TJ and Cam were not in a good place in their friendship, TJ stood by him when Cam was in a bad mental place.
