I've read a few of the Ravenloft novels, and so far this is by far the best. It's definitely a paperback, D&D tie-in novel, so the prose is functional, but it's fast paced, full of twists, and feels a lot like Ravenloft. If you're looking for an exciting, quick D&D horror novel, this is a solid recommendation.

The first Ravenloft novel that was actually good with good pacing.
For once I truly liked the characters and was genuinely sad for them.

This novel can also function as a great mystery horror campaign and I will use it as such in the future!

A bit of a pleasant mess really and probably the least of the Ravenloft books I've read so far. Took its time to warm up, then it became entertaining in a popcorn, freewheeling manner. None of the characters are particularly memorable although I'd love to know more about Anton Misroi.
