Pitched to me as a "Bone" read-alike, I enjoyed this adventure starring a fearless girl and her scaredy-cat baker of a brother. But lest you think girls can only be rough and tumble, this story also features an aspiring princess who's more wisdom and substance than frills and lace. Not as seamless a story as Bone, this will definitely still appeal to its readers. Similarities include setting, humor, the inclusion of magical creatures, a sinister and mysterious villain, and characters who are not what they seem. I'm looking forward to future installments.

What a cute story about a little girl who wants to be a giant slayer. Great for middle grade.

Claudette is a warrior just like her father and dreams of making a name of herself by defeating the horrible baby feet eating giant that lives outside the walls of her village. Through some trickery, lying and sneaking around, Claudette with her brother Gaston and best friend Marie leave the village for the first time to venture into the Forest of Death and past the Mad River to find the giant that has been feared for years. It is through the journey that she begins to realize that everything is not how she thought it was.

A fun adventure filled with humor and a cast of wonderful characters.

This was so cute! All the kids had such interesting personalities, and I really liked how the story unfolded. Loved the illustrations as well.

Adorable and fun. A feisty girl, plus a wannabe princess who is tougher than she looks, and a sweetly scared but strong little boy. Lovely art, I will definitely be looking for more from this writer and artist.

The entire town has heard stories about the "giant who likes to eat baby feet." Everyone is scared, except Claudette. Armed with her wooden sword, she is eager to travel to the hills and defeat the giant. She tricks two friends into joining her for this giant fighting expedition and together they face several adventures on their way to the giant.

The characters in this adventure graphic novel are full of energy and personality. As a result of their adventures, they become stronger friends and learn a little more about their individual strengths. I think these characters are a ton of fun. This book is a great tool to encourage reluctant readers. I highly recommend it.

One of the hits of my elementary school summer reading promotional visits this year. Also commonly one of the only books on my list the schools already owned.

Claudette's town has lived under the shadow of a potential giant invasion for her entire life. She is sick of the inaction of all the grown-ups. So she decides to destroy the giant herself!

Like the can-do attitude of our protagonist, and the unpredictable storyline. Fun and engaging illustrations in awesome full-color.

A super strong comic for kids.
