Like the second WondLa book I thought that there were too many characters and it did not hold my interest. The first book in the series is by far my favorite. I did enjoy listening to the audiobooks because of Teri Hatcher's amazing voice! I listed to half of this book on audio and then read the rest. It was nice to get a visual as DiTerlizzi's illustrations are amazing. I think that Eva's story had promise, but sometimes there were too many ideas, characters, plot points jammed into one story line.

I read this series to my 8 year old son and we liked it more and more as we went on. I loved the heroine and the world that the author built. The books have a great message about love and acceptance without being overly sappy or melodramatic. The references to the Wizard of Oz were really fun to run across too. Def recommend for kids 7-12, especially read to them.

First, lemme start off by saying (or writing), Eva looks really bad-ass in the cover. I think this would have to be my favorite cover. As the last book, I think it was most definitely the strongest. Not just in plot and storyline, but character development as well. Eva was really such a naive character and you could still notice her development throughout this last book. To be honest, I grew fond of her courage and leadership. The relationships Eva had with each and every one of the characters was so wonderfully sweet, especially her strong bond with Rovender. Rovender is really the father figure in her life, and he gave her so much guidance. In the first book, Muthr had died, leaving Eva all alone. One of my most hated tropes is when a parent or guardian dies and leaves the main character alone. The truth is, a child can fulfill their destiny with help and guidance. Rovee was exactly that type of character and I really appreciated what he did. Overall, I thought this was a satisfying and fantastic conclusion to the series.
