This story follows Abby Bullion who is moving out west to live with her father, after her mother dies. Her father runs the mine at Big Thunder Mountain. Her father expects her to be a prim and proper lady, but Abby is strong willed, adventurous, and daring. She wants to explore the new town and the mine. The story follows from there, and leads off at a cliff hanger ending.
Overall, this was a fun introduction, and an enjoyable western adventure story. I enjoyed how this takes the idea of the Big Thunder Mountain ride, and builds an interesting world and story around it. I am glad I have the next edition to continue the story and find out what happens.
