One of my all time favorite books, I recommend it to everyone, especially young women or anyone struggling with (or who has struggled with) an eating disorder.

The first time I read this book, I was an impressionable 9 year old. Reading it again a decade later, It's not so bad. I definitely didn't remember the ending except for the "thawing" quote. I'd go as far as to say that this book is better than "A Little Life" because it didn't feel like 'sad porn' (sad for the sake of being sad).

A decent read for anyone who wants to learn about the internal dialogue of someone with an eating disorder. Overall, the book is captivating enough that you want to continue, but for me, it was not profound.

While this book was significant to me as a freshman in high school, it is no longer helpful. I find it a little horrifying that Anderson provides in-depth thoughts on how to self-harm and "successfully" be anorexic. While it really highlights how unhealthy this mindset is, it also provides tips/tricks for those currently struggling with these issues. I personally have a policy against showing the action/methods but I still make sure to highlight the aftermath and overall unhealthy mindset.

Shows the intense mental turmoil and problems of people with eating disorders. This book was both triggering and made me feel less alone and seen

this book is a hard read at times & also some of the writing is a little cringe. but some of it is absolutely beautiful & I'm glad it ended happily. recovery is a hard thing to do & I think this book has a fairly accurate representation of that (as far as I know)

It mentions self-harm multiple times, but there is no warning in the front or back, so here’s a heads up!
