I’m tempted to give this a 3 or a 3.5, as it’s a rather one-note book and rather repetitive. But it did entirely change my way of thinking about nuclear power, so I’d consider that one note well-executed.

While it give a good case for nuclear energy it falls short of the reality to upgrade the existing electric grid in order to handle electrifying everything. Our infrastructure is only as strong as the weakest link and the amount of upgrades needed to accommodate that amount of load isnt something to be ignored.

“Saving the planet is not a burden to share, but a chance to reinvent ourselves for the better.”
Good read on the possibilities that nuclear power presents for decarbonization. A little heavy handed, but makes a pretty clear case for a mix of nuclear and renewable sources to combat climate change.

This book was really hard to read. At one memorable point I almost threw Bright Future across the tram floor.
But at the same time, it's everything that is missing in our climate discourse. It's firmly backed up by science, rigorously impartial, and very accessible.
Please read this book. I want to talk about this book.

If you care about climate change and its solutions, I would highly encourage you to read this book. It clearly lays out the facts on decarbonization and the realities of different energy sources (safety, economics, etc.), making an extremely compelling case for nuclear power.
For a short version of similar material, I'd recommend the TED talks from Michael Shellenberger.

An important book that more people should read. Loses one star since it can be a tad bit too evangelical at times.
