Audible Escape

If this weren’t part of the Audible Escape package I would NOT be happy. This is HALF a book. I’m not saying this just because it ends in a cliffhanger, it’s also because of the length. You’d be spending a credit for what is the first half of a book, concluded in “White Night”. Additionally, there’s a lot of repetition that “fluffs” this up to being 6.5hrs. Both books combined are just over 12 hours. For a member discounted rate of $40 or 2 credits? No.

There’s a somewhat enjoyable & intriguing story here. This could have been a single 3 maybe 4 star book, but instead it’s a disappointing first half. In order to create filler conflict Drew, while described as an award-winning journalist, makes a slew of mistakes because... she’s attracted to Cannon? Really? This book basically covers 4 days. We’re supposed to believe that she’s so enthralled with this guy that she’s willing to give up her very personal mission of finding who is responsible for her father’s DEATH, because ... orgasm?

And the wig. It’s like it’s a character all unto itself. One that constantly has to be justified and explained in ridiculous ways.

I’m not even sure I’ll listen to the second half even though I don’t have to pay for it.

Also, it has ties to previous March books that I read years ago and clearly don’t remember well enough. They’re also on the Escape package, so it would be helpful to listen to the Dirty Billionaire series again. Which is another single book that was divided into 3 parts (at least they offer a bundle of all 3 for a single credit).

Andi Arndt & Sebastian York are phenomenal as always.

ahhhh I LOVE Sebastian York's voice. I will find every book that he narrated and just listen to it.

Black Sheep was an okay mafia book. It intrigued me in some places and I was kind of interested in this whole Romeo and Juliet kind of romance. There was obvious chemistry between Cannon and Drew/Memphis. Even though she was undercover for most of this book, I still thought that once he figure out her secret that nothing bad was going to happen.

Mostly because these two definitely had that insta-craziness. So much amazing smut but knowing me.. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. It dropped but it was kind of lame. The entire time she was trying to bring down this mafia family for a death in her family but along the way she fell for the one person who made her think that they were all innocent. It was cute but I felt like no one was really mad at her for betraying them ya know?

Overall, I loved Sebastian's voice so much that I flew through this and the second book. Ugh, I need more. Also, a happy ending would be nice. I hate cliffhangers.

What can I say other than Meghan March's world that she has continued to craft so exquistely remains my favorite. I love that her characters show up throughout her different series even when they are set in different cities. It's like a huge family. This book had dark mafia, smut, power, and delicious interactions. I was putting off reading this book for a long time only because I didn't want to purchase it, but I snagged it on sale and the next book is already in my Amazon cart. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Cannon after only have glimpses of him in Holly and Creighton's books. His story is great and I'm so hopeful that he will be able to repair the friendship with Creighton. March's books are not overly long and I think that's why she can get away with multiple parts in the series, but I could see this just being a long book. Sometimes cliffhangers aren't needed. You're definitely fully invested in this book by only a few chapters in.

Secret, lies, drama, intrigue and raw sexual tension, Meghan March's Black Sheep had it all. We've waited on bated breath. Hoping and praying that we would one day get Cannon Freeman's story. Now that it's here I can honestly say it DOES NOT DISAPPOINTS! I am obsessed. So fully and immersed in this fast-paced, addictive world. I was drawn in from the very beginning. I didn't put the story down until I reached the end. Where, of course, the cliffhanger queen struck again with another epic and jaw dropping ending. I am dying to have book 2 in my hands.

Can I say how much I love Cannon?! I'm gonna go ahead and add him to my list of favorite Meghan March heroes. He's oozes sexiness and brilliance. Yet, there's an underling vulnerability to him because he is the bastard son of Dominic, the head of Casso crime family. He doesn't get the same level of care or protection as his siblings even after doing everything that's ask of him.
My heart goes out to him. It isn't until Drew enters the picture and the threat of losing her to Dom where he begins to fight back.

Drew and Cannon have the most amazing chemistry. Their relationship is more instant lovey than I expected but that didn't bother me because their connection couldn't be denied.

Now, while I am wholeheartedly rooting for Drew and Cannon, their relationship isn't the one I am most eager to see develop in the second book. Nope, my heart is longing for a Cannon and Creighton reconciliation. I so need them to be best friends again. The way Cannon talks about missing his friend hits me directly in the feels. *Fingers crossed* Here's hoping we get something in book 2.

As I said above I can.not. wait to read the next book. I can only imagine how intense it'll be. *grabby hands* Give me all the mafia epicness!!

Black Sheep is book one in Meghan’s new Dirty Mafia duet. In this book you meet Drew, the sweet and innocent girl looking for employment. Cannon runs a club where Drew lands a job. Drew definitely gets in over her head in every sense of the word. Their chemistry is off the charts sizzling! This was definitely hard to put down once I started reading!! I absolutely cannot wait for White Knight to release for the continuation of their story!!
